My Philosophy in Life

Life is a series of examinations. There are times that you’ll pass because you have prepared for it. There will also be occasions when you’ll fail though you gave your best.  I believe that “choice” is vital in our day-to-day living. Everyday we are presented with situations which would require us to make decisions in life. We are given free-will to make our decisions in life, whether we are wise in choosing our path or foolish enough to take the road of destruction. We are given the “choice.”

I have an existentialist’s perspective. Since I was in highschool, I always wondered about my purpose. I always seek for reasons why certain experience happen to people.  When I started my Masteral in Guidance and Counseling, I learned more about existentialism. I realized that I am more of an existentialist. I agree that we should be responsible for the decisions we make in life. We have a choice to every situation that are presented to us. Scott Peck mentioned in his book The Road Less Travelled that “Life is difficult.” I think it would be if we decide it to be. I am not certain if my argument is right in saying that it is not the difficulty in life that makes it hard to bear. It is in our reaction towards life that determines if it is difficult or not. We have the choice whether to make things difficult or hard for ourselves.  Thus, the choices we make in life create the difference in our everyday affairs.

Life, in my perspective, is a university where we are given lessons and assignments, surprise quizzes and final examinations.  The disappointments and successes we encounter in our life is determined by our reactions. Life is a continuous education. If we are to make mistakes and learn from them, then we become educated in another fact of life. If we learn from other’s mistakes, then we are applying the theories of life. Either way, we are being educated because of the decision we make in our lives. Knowing or learning depends on our choices.

Thus, wherever my decision in life leads me, I will be responsible for it.   /apd032005

Decisions....

Decisions are inevitable. In our everyday life, choices are made.

If I make the right decision, then I am blessed because I have gained wisdom. If I make the wrong choice, then I am still blessed because I have been given an opportunity to learn.

Failure is avoidable by not taking action or not making any decision.

If I let myself fail, then I am letting myself grow.

Experience at The Feast

Life is a blessing. Indeed, it is a precious gift that has been given to any living creature on this planet. But it is quite interesting that some people would think that life is a curse and would rather reject it than exult its existence.

I had the privilege of attending the Feast and hearing the inspiring words of Bro. Bo Sanchez. After hearing mass and Bro. Bo's talk, I felt really blessed and spiritually nourished. It revived my  passion for my life's existence.  I missed it.... though I have been with God through these years, yet it feels really good having to praise and exult Him. Just to raise all my concerns to Him and know that He will bless all my plans.

It was an amazing experience for me since I have been thinking of so many things for the past weeks... my fears and frustrations. God wanted me to attend the Feast so He can let me know that He has not forgotten my plans and that He is taking it into consideration. My spirit was uplifted and I felt peace in my heart again. I am much happier now.... I just hope I can maintain the decision to be so... better yet, I am choosing to be happy. But if I forget, please tap me at the back gently and remind me that happiness is a decision we make in our lives.

Be blessed always...

My Inspiration....

There are moments when I want to give up.... to let myself fade away from darkness.... not to push myself to become the best of what I can be. There are times that I feel my world is falling apart.. but God always gives me light through the words of Max Ehrman....... hope you'll be inspired as well... please read on..

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others; you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many person strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.

Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have the right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.

And whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy...

Confused mind

I see myself
Running in circles
Without an end
In this confusion.
Now I can see
This person inside of me
Running away from reality
Running away from the truth
that may set me free.
I'm so tired of dreaming
Chasing fantasies
That can never be real
I'ms so tired of running away
From myself.
